Actions after vaccination. How to reduce the risk of complications? Mass refusal of vaccinations: justified necessity or virtual fashion? What could you wish for young parents?

Many patients today are wondering whether or not they should vaccinate themselves or their children. One of the points against is the consequences and complications after injections. Can prevent unpleasant effects correct actions after vaccination.

What happens in the body after vaccination?

The vaccine is a set of antigens - proteins pathogens . They can be presented in the form of a set of amino acids, killed or live microorganisms. When they enter the human body during vaccination the immune system begins to react to them as if an infection had occurred. During this reaction, antibodies are formed, which remain in the body and, upon repeated contact with the antigen, provide quick response immune system aimed at eliminating it.

These compounds can remain in human blood from a year to several decades. Antibody synthesis is associated with the active functioning of the immune system, a similar reaction of the body to an allergen or any other foreign agent. Therefore, symptoms such as fever, cough, rash, reminiscent of the onset of colds or dermatitis. If the immune system overreacts to the vaccine, angioedema and even anaphylactic shock, which represents serious threat for life and health.

What not to do after vaccination

Caring for the injection site

The grafting site must be kept dry; when bathing, it should not be rubbed with a washcloth or soap. It is better if the skin is open or under wide, spacious clothing made from natural fabrics. Does not require special care of the vaccination site, in the absence of doctor’s recommendations, there is no need to lubricate it with gels or creams or apply a bandage.

Actions after vaccination

It is worth limiting any stress on the body in the first hours after vaccination. If such reactions have already occurred this type vaccinations, like fever, headache, it makes sense to take antihistamines - Fenistil or Zirtex. The amount of liquid you drink should be increased, but not at the expense of juices, they can cause an allergic reaction. A good alternative would be mineral water, tea.

You should not leave the medical facility immediately after the injection., it is better to wait for half an hour. This time is enough to detect an acute allergic reaction to the vaccine. In this case, the patient will be provided with the necessary medical assistance, will give antihistamines to prevent the development of anaphylactic shock. At the same time, it is important to avoid contact with other visitors to the clinic who are potential carriers of diseases transmitted airborne way.

Possible complications in the first days after vaccination

The most important parameter that needs to be monitored in the first days after vaccination is body temperature. Her slight increase does not pose any danger. Doctors give different recommendations regarding the temperature at which antipyretics (ibuprofen, nurofen) should be taken. On average, it is 38°-38.5°, but costsfollow the advice of your attending physician. To reduce the temperature, children should use Nurofen for children; it is also sold in the form of syrup.

If the patient feels normal after vaccination, then walks on a walk are acceptable and even advisable. fresh air. Optimal time stay outside for 30-60 minutes.

The first 5-12 days after vaccination

Some vaccines may cause late reactions, such as live vaccines. They require longer observation compared to conventional ones, after which complications disappear within 48 hours. After them, in addition to an increase in temperature, the following reactions are possible:

  • minor rash;
  • swollen lymph nodes;
  • sore throat, slight runny nose;
  • loss of appetite;
  • stomach upset.

Cause for concern: when does it make sense to call a doctor?

In some situations, home remedies cannot be used and a doctor’s help may be required:

  1. Repeated diarrhea or vomiting.
  2. High temperature that cannot be brought down with antipyretics.
  3. Swelling at the injection site.
  4. Pronounced allergic reactions.
  5. Strong headache. In infants, it can manifest as a symptom of high-pitched crying that lasts several hours.
  6. Suppuration at the injection site.
  7. Induration of the grafting site exceeding 3 cm in diameter.

You should immediately call an ambulance if you notice the following symptoms in yourself or your child::

  1. A fall blood pressure below the threshold value.
  2. Temperature rise above 40°.
  3. Cramps.
  4. Choking, Quincke's edema, fainting.

What is the cause of the complications?

Unfortunately, there is always a risk of unpleasant side effects after vaccination.. However, related factors can significantly increase it. These include:

1.Having allergies, dermatitis in the active stage at the time of vaccination. At least 3 weeks must have passed since the last rash.

2. Signs immunodeficiency: thrush, active herpes, constant colds.

3. Violation of vaccination rules by medical staff or vaccine storage . The ampoule with the drug must be kept in the refrigerator, in compliance with the expiration dates specified by the manufacturer.

4.Individual characteristics of the body. Their presence can be assumed if a child or adult is prone to allergies and has had refusals from vaccinations in the past. This feature must be reported to your doctor.

5. If there are diseases, the question of the possibility of vaccination is decided individually with a therapist or pediatrician.

6.Strain mutation when using a live vaccine. This reason is the rarest of those presented; it inevitably entails legal proceedings.

WHO actions to reduce risks in the vaccination process

Since, despite all the warnings, complications after vaccinations are a very common occurrence, doctors around the world are actively looking for ways to reduce their risk. What are the trends in modern healthcare have they already allowed vaccines to become safer?

1.Usage combination drugs . Many modern vaccines contain antigens from several pathogens at once. This method involves a one-time impact on the human immune system, which relieves him of the need to worry adverse consequences vaccinations repeatedly.

2. Adding only proven and tested products to the vaccine secure connections that do not have a negative effect on the human body.

3.Drafting vaccination calendar, taking into account the lifetime of specific antibodies.

4. Informing adult patients and parents of vaccinated children about possible risks, rules of conduct before and after vaccination.

5.Examination of the patient before vaccination attending physician, examination skin, measuring body temperature, heart rate, blood pressure.

Strictly following the recommendations of a doctor you trust will help you avoid complications. It won't hurt either additional knowledge general rules behavior after vaccination, as well as the effect of a specific vaccine on the body. Everyone decides for themselves whether or not to undergo the procedure.

Today, materials on many websites and forums on the Internet are devoted to the negative effects of vaccinations on a child’s body and possible complications. Autism, immune system disorders, jaundice with edema (up to fatal outcome), Quincke's edema and other severe allergic reactions (life-threatening for the newborn), diabetes and many more things are promised to young mothers by virtual doctors and parents who have experienced the negative effects of vaccination on their children.

IN Lately In this discussion, religious arguments also appeared; for example, opponents of vaccination can often hear the words that since a person’s life is in the hands of God, then vaccinations are not needed: if God allows the disease, then it will be in any case will happen, and if there is no God’s will, then vaccination is not needed. You can often hear this: Orthodox Christians should give birth to children at home and refuse vaccinations - this is more correct, because supposedly allows you to avoid totalitarian control over a person.

From a medical point of view

To understand this issue, we asked you to tell us everything about vaccinations, about possible complications from them and measures to prevent such negative impacts on the child’s body Department of Vaccine Prevention of the National Center for Health Protection ( scientific center children's health) RAMS, pediatrician-neonatologist, immunologist, doctor of the highest category, candidate medical sciences Marina Gennadievna Galitskaya. Marina Gennadievna kindly agreed to answer our questions that concern us all.

Marina Gennadievna, please tell us in detail, step by step, what parents should do to be completely sure that vaccination will only benefit the child?

This should be checked not by parents, but by a doctor! The pediatrician conducts an examination, and then only sends the child for vaccination. The mother can only carefully monitor the baby’s condition and notice in time something unusual in his behavior, measure the temperature and, if something is wrong, of course, not go for vaccination. And the doctor should do the rest.

Marina Gennadievna, what if we consider a situation where parents cannot rely on the doctor’s opinion. Unfortunately, there are doctors who are negligent in their duties; they may simply not look to see if there are any contraindications/indications for vaccinations in a newborn, and may not prescribe the necessary procedures and examinations. What then should parents do to ensure that their child is vaccinated correctly or not?

Immediately after birth, within 12 hours, the mother is offered to vaccinate her child against hepatitis B. Whether to do it or not can be decided on several points. Firstly, according to the condition of the child at the time of birth. He is being assessed by a pediatrician, and his mother cannot help. The doctor suggests vaccinating only if everything is fine with the child (good means 8-9, even 7-9, points on the Apgar scale - corr.). If the child's condition is not satisfactory, doctors will not offer vaccination or will offer it later when the baby's condition improves.

It should be noted that vaccination can be carried out even for premature babies (if their condition is satisfactory). Secondly, I strongly recommend vaccination specifically against hepatitis B for newborns whose mothers have hepatitis or are carriers of it. Infection can occur during childbirth, so it is necessary to immediately administer the vaccine so that the child has time to develop immunity and the baby remains healthy. You also need to carry out child vaccination if someone in the family is sick or is a carrier of hepatitis.

On days 3-7 of life, the newborn, also at the request of the parents, is given BCG (vaccine against tuberculosis). There are strict indications and contraindications for this vaccination. There is an order according to which it is only done healthy baby, with sufficient body weight and with positive dynamics of the latter. If BCG is not done in the maternity hospital, BCG-M is done in the clinic (contains a smaller number of viable microbial cells - corr.), Moreover, a child under 2 months is given BCG-M, if older than 2 months, BCG-M is done after the Mantoux reaction .

Before administering the DPT vaccine, you need to consult a neurologist and general tests urine and blood. All doctors usually know this. DTP affects the child’s nervous system; after vaccination, it can be observed increased excitability, therefore, children with any neurological abnormalities are not recommended to receive DTP vaccination. It is possible, if there are contraindications to DPT vaccinations, vaccinate a newborn with ADS toxoid.

To carry out other vaccinations of some kind special instructions No. You only need to remember about the health of the child. Parents can more or less calmly vaccinate their baby if he sucks well and does not spit up; he has positive changes in body weight; no temperature; general urine and blood tests are normal; before vaccination, 2-3 weeks have passed after recovery (if the child was sick with something).

It is important that everyone in the family is healthy at the time of vaccination. It is not good if after vaccination the child gets sick (infected with something from family members, for example, acute respiratory infections). This is not so scary, but it will increase the load on the baby’s immune system - the disease may be more complicated, and the likelihood of post-vaccination complications.

After vaccination, it is advisable to monitor the child for a couple of days, especially in the first hours after vaccination, in order to monitor possible complications if anything happens.

If a newborn has a negative reaction to a vaccination, it is worth taking a waiver from other vaccinations for up to a year.

If parents have any doubts about vaccination, they should consult an immunologist.

- Tell me, please, how to choose and buy the right vaccine?

Parents usually do not choose the vaccine themselves; they are offered vaccines at the medical center where the vaccinations will be given. Pharmacies usually sell flu vaccines and some others that do not require special storage conditions. The rest of the vaccines are purchased from pharmacies and specialized companies for medical institutions, and they will not be sold to a person “on the street” who is not a health worker - they must be observed special conditions storing vaccines that cannot be created at home in the refrigerator. And if they sell you a vaccine, for example, against hepatitis, so to speak, in your hands, this should already raise suspicions about these vaccines and the pharmacy/company/warehouse where this was allowed. At a minimum, if you ordered vaccines from somewhere, they should deliver it to you in a special container that maintains certain storage conditions. It is important that this is a proven, reliable warehouse/pharmacy/company where, as you reliably know, vaccines are purchased medical centers. Better yet, negotiate medical institution Where you are going to vaccinate your child, the vaccine will be from a certain company. Alternative option, get vaccinated at the center where the vaccines you need are available. It is believed that imported vaccines, especially French ones, are better than Russian ones, because... they contain fewer preservatives and other additional substances and, accordingly, are better tolerated by the child, causing fewer post-vaccination complications.

Today a lot of literature is devoted negative side vaccinations - tell me what you think about this?

I believe that in our country there is an incorrect trend of negative attitudes towards vaccinations. All over the world, in Western Europe, in the USA, for example, this is absolutely not and cannot be, because vaccination is a child’s right to health, and their infringement should be punishable by law.

I also think that on the part of parents, this is an opportunity to blame the child’s health on something outside. The child got sick, it’s hard for mom to admit that he got sick because she dragged him to the shops all day during a flu epidemic or some other viral infection– it’s best to say that the child was vaccinated two weeks ago. I think it has something to do with this too negative attitude for vaccinations in Russia.

It is also important that vaccinations cause post-vaccination complications, which pass quickly, but which parents pay attention to. Cases serious complications are extremely rare, but more attention is paid to them, because The positive effects of vaccines are invisible, but the negative ones are immediately noticeable and cause mistrust in people’s vaccinations.

Marina Gennadievna, what negative consequences can there be from vaccinating a newborn, please list the complications from vaccinations?

There are adverse reactions to the vaccine, there are complications. If we talk about complications, they occur in approximately the following proportion: one case per 10 thousand vaccinated children. Sometimes there is a complication of the polio vaccine, such as polio-associated infection, i.e. The vaccine causes polio itself. This happens very rarely, in immunodeficient, unhealthy children. But now in our country, according to a new order, from this year live vaccines are not used in the vaccination of newborns in order to prevent such cases (which, according to statistics, are one in 10 thousand). The rest is not complications, but adverse reactions to the vaccine: for example, there may be a fever that goes away after 1-2 days.

- What can you say about such strong allergic reactions to vaccination as Quincke's edema in a child?

I can say that this happens extremely rarely (1/10,000, as I already said). In any case, during the 5 years of my work in the vaccination office, and you can imagine how many children passed through the office during this time (given the large flow of people per day!), there was not a single such complication. In general, in any vaccination room there is an anti-shock kit for such a case, which allows you to provide emergency assistance. I hope that I never had to use it!

- Maybe give the child an antihistamine (anti-allergic) before vaccination?

This makes no sense, but only causes harm, because... If suddenly a child develops anaphylactic shock, then antihistamine won't help here. If suddenly the child turns out to have increased sensitivity to the components of the vaccine and, for example, a rash appears, then you will need to give the pill, but not before the vaccination! Because it won’t work in advance and because giving “just in case” a medicine that itself has side effects is extremely unwise!

Some parents are faced with the situation of disturbances in the immune system of their children after vaccinations - tell me, what could this be connected with?

If a disorder in the immune system means morbidity, then this is often due to the fact that a newborn is brought to a clinic for vaccination, where, unfortunately, not all children are healthy, and the child can simply become infected with something. Again, public transport is a risk factor. And again, the mother does not notice the connection between the disease and visits to transport or the clinic.

- What can you say about the connection between hepatitis B vaccination and the development of autism in a child?

Well, this is not after hepatitis B, you read, but after measles, rubella, mumps. In principle, autism has nothing to do with any vaccination. These are rumors. More than one study has been conducted to dispel them. We took children with autism who were vaccinated and who were not vaccinated. The percentage of people with autism was the same in both groups. That is, it has been clinically proven that there is no connection between vaccinations and the development of autism in children.

- What do you think about the development of jaundice with edema in newborns after vaccination against hepatitis B?

The hepatitis B vaccine is given immediately after the baby is born. The jaundice that parents notice is physiological and not a complication of the vaccine given. Newborns have an immature liver enzyme system, so they develop jaundice, which goes away after a few days.

- A friend of mine’s child developed diabetes due to the BCG vaccination - what can you say about this?

The fact is that diabetes did not develop due to vaccination, i.e. The vaccine is not (and cannot be) the cause of this disease! The vaccine apparently triggered the development of pre-existing hereditary diabetes. And such a trigger could be anything, the same cold, for example. Congenital diabetes is very difficult to determine immediately! The mother can only know about such a danger in advance (if someone in the family had diabetes) and pay attention earlier to the fact that her child is not eating well and regurgitating.

- So, maybe if doctors knew about diabetes, they wouldn’t vaccinate?

No. BCG vaccination is necessary because it protects against tuberculosis. Moreover, if it had not been done, the child would not have been saved from diabetes anyway, because... congenital diabetes. And maybe it’s even better that it happened this way, because we learned about the disease early and started treating it earlier. And the earlier diabetes therapy begins, the better the long-term results.

The only thing that could be even better is in this case, if the mother knew about the possibility of developing diabetes in the child, she would have noticed early that he was not eating well (although this is hardly possible to do 3-7 days before BCG vaccination) - and then, probably, the presence of the disease would have been confirmed earlier and therapy would have been started.

- Tell me, what are the advantages of vaccinations (specifically for each)?

The advantages are that the child has the opportunity not to suffer from these infections. For example, the hepatitis B vaccine is given on the first day to prevent infection of the child during childbirth. A lot of women in our country are now infected with hepatitis B. Even those who have passed two tests during pregnancy for the hepatitis virus may be infected. Because studies have shown that these tests are not reliable (plus there are forms of the disease with negative tests to the “Australian antigen”, which is used to judge the presence of hepatitis - approx. corr.). Not vaccinating a newborn from an infected mother against hepatitis B, in my opinion, is the same as poisoning a child with a pill and not washing his stomach. Hepatitis B is very contagious disease, it can also be contracted in a manicure salon and when visiting a dentist, not to mention such interventions as surgical operations and blood transfusion (hundredths of a ml of blood are enough - an amount not detectable by the eye - corr.).

BCG is carried out to exclude infection with tuberculosis after the child gets from maternity ward home. Tuberculosis is a very dangerous disease, given time There is a lot of tuberculosis in our country (and in Moscow, in particular), it is transmitted by airborne droplets, i.e. an unvaccinated person, and even more so small child With an underdeveloped immune system, contracting tuberculosis is very easy and likely. The sooner you get vaccinated, the better.

Marina Gennadievna, are there any calculated statistics on morbidity (corresponding nosologies) in vaccinated and unvaccinated newborns?

Only in Moscow, since they introduced compulsory vaccination against hepatitis B, its incidence decreased by approximately 10 times, and in Russia - by 6 times. It is more difficult to calculate for tuberculosis, because The vaccine protects only against its generalized forms, i.e. a vaccinated child has a chance to become infected with tuberculosis, but the disease will progress over a longer period of time mild form.

One can give such a striking example: if it weren’t for vaccinations against smallpox and polio, we would probably all have died out now: smallpox was the scourge of the 18th century until the vaccine was invented (although at that time they wanted to try its inventor Jenner for “savage manipulation” of people - corr.). Also, if a child has not received a tetanus vaccine, and he suddenly gets a banal abrasion, nothing can be done, the child will die, because this is a disease modern medicines There is no cure, it can only be prevented by vaccination.

Another thing is that vaccines need to be done wisely: delay vaccinating a sick child, undergo a medical examination before vaccination, etc. (see above - corr.).

- What could you wish to young parents?

I can wish parents that their children are healthy and not sick!

- Thanks to Marina Gennadievna for the answer!

So, even before the baby is born, it is worth finding out and/or doing a few things:

1. Hereditary diseases(primarily related to the immune and endocrine systems), in addition to those diagnosed during pregnancy.

2. Which centers purchase high-quality vaccines and are probably equipped with anti-shock devices.

3. Which trusted companies and warehouses provide delivery of the necessary vaccines.

4. Learn the vaccination calendar by heart.

5. Find a good pediatrician and immunologist.

And after birth: before giving vaccinations, follow the instructions prescribed above.

From a point of view of faith

A round table on the topic “Vaccine prevention in children: problems and ways to solve them” was held with the blessing of Patriarch of Moscow and All Rus' Alexy II in the Department for Church Charity and Social Service of the Moscow Patriarchate. The reason for choosing the topic was the spread among Orthodox believers of the opinion that vaccinations are one of the forms of totalitarian state control over citizens and can cause harm to the health of children. “The vaccine is a necessary contribution to the protection of health,” said RAMS academician Alexander Chuchalin at a round table in Moscow.

Hierarchs of the Russian Orthodox Church, scientists and government officials have come to the general opinion that there is no alternative to the current practice of vaccinating children today. In addition to Academician A. Chuchalin, the meeting was attended by Metropolitan Sergius of Voronezh and Borisoglebsk, representatives Federal service of the Russian Federation for supervision in the field of consumer rights protection and human well-being, the Federal Service for Surveillance in Healthcare and social development, as well as the Society of Orthodox Doctors of Russia, reports the website of the Department of Church Charity.

In fact, refusing vaccinations and preventing the disease is akin to arguments against treatment in principle: after all, if God wants a person to recover, he will recover without doctors, and if a person is destined to get very sick or die, then medications will not save him. This question has been raised in all centuries, and the Church has always blessed the work of salvation human life and healing from illness. Thus, it is known that the Apostle Luke was a doctor, like many saints and ascetics of Christianity, whom we have repeatedly talked about on the pages of our portal (Nun Ignatia Puzik: “Saint surgeon, bishop - winner of the Stalin Prize”). Here are a few quotes from the works of the holy fathers:

“Honor the doctor according to the need for him, for the Lord created him, and healing comes from the Most High, and he receives a gift from the king... The Lord created medicine from the earth, and a prudent person will not neglect them” (Sir. 38: 1-2, 4).

“If you believed that the eternal and incurable ulcers of the immortal soul and sinful diseases are healed by Christ, then you would believe that He is able to heal temporary bodily infirmities and illnesses and would resort to Him alone, despising medical aids and services. For Who created the soul He can also heal the body from temporary suffering and illness.

But, of course, you will tell me the following: “God gave earthly herbs and medicinal substances and for bodily infirmities he prepared medical aids, ordering that the body taken from the earth be healed with various earthly products." And I agree that this is so. But be careful and find out to whom this was given and about whom God had a special look in the great and His infinite love for mankind and goodness!.. So, in this God revealed His consideration for the weak and unfaithful; out of His great goodness He did not want the sinful human race to completely perish" (Rev. Macarius the Great).

“Just as we should not completely avoid the art of medicine, it is also inappropriate to place all our hope in it. But just as we use the art of agriculture and ask the Lord for fruits... so, when we bring in a doctor... we do not give up our trust in God" (St. Basil the Great).

“In medicines and treatment, one must surrender to the will of God. He is able to enlighten the doctor and give strength to healing (Reverend Macarius of Optina).

“When the Lord healed the blind man, He first made clay from the earth and anointed the blind man’s eyes - with this the Lord pointed to the medicine - this is what theologians say” (Sche-abbot Ioann Alekseev)

The news that after the Mantoux test the condition of students at secondary school No. 245 in the Khatai district of Baku led to the natural concern of many parents and the question: “Is it worth exposing their children to the danger of vaccination?” Frankly, today many people ask this question, since here parents are divided into two irreconcilable camps. Opponents of routine immunization of the population believe that vaccinations not only do not protect, but themselves cause diseases, often previously unknown. Vaccinations affect the human immune system, and after receiving their spectrum, the vaccinated person becomes susceptible to diseases that he would never have gotten. Therefore, vaccination weakens the body, especially if many vaccinations are given during a lifetime.

Allergy-causing test

Those who are in favor believe that vaccinations must be carried out at the time prescribed by the pediatrician, and the more accurate parents are, the higher their preventive effectiveness. By refusing this process, parents are putting their children in danger.

Mantoux is not a vaccine. The Mantoux test is a test for the activity of a person's anti-tuberculosis immunity. It shows whether organs in the child’s body are affected due to tuberculosis. After all, as you know, this disease affects not only the lungs. "However, some parents confuse the Mantoux test with vaccinations. The fact is that children school age no vaccinations are given. But parents can refuse the Mantoux test. However, in this case, the nurse and doctor who perform this test must explain to parents and children the importance of this procedure. After all, the child’s life may be at great risk. And every parent should take care of the well-being of their child. Any disease is easier to treat with its initial stage", the chief pediatrician of the Ministry of Health of Azerbaijan, director of the Institute of Pediatrics, explained to the media after the incident. Nasib Guliyev.

The technique of conducting the Mantoux test consists of introducing into the thickness of the skin of the person being examined a special substance, tuberculin, obtained from destroyed tubercle bacilli. Tuberculin is recognized by the human immune system as a sign of tuberculosis infection. If the human body is already familiar tuberculosis infection, then at the site of tuberculin injection a focus of inflammation appears, usually in the form of a plaque. “From an infectious and toxicological point of view, tuberculin is a safe substance. However, due to its high allergenicity, tuberculin can cause allergies in some people. The size of the papule allows one to judge the intensity (activity) of anti-tuberculosis immunity,” says N. Guliyev. Actually, the malaise caused by the Mantoux test in schoolchildren was that same allergic reaction.

"No to vaccines!"

This incident led to further disputes between representatives of the two camps. This is what a concerned mother of two children told us in a conversation with an R+ correspondent. The eldest daughter is 5 years old, the youngest is 2 years old.

“I am against vaccination. I believe that there is no evidence that vaccinations have completely protected humanity from dangerous infectious diseases. I am convinced that vaccination is not a guarantee that a child will not get the disease for which he was vaccinated. Not a single vaccination can completely protect against infection. After I vaccinated my eldest child, and every time after that, she felt serious ailments With the temperature rising, I decided that I would not expose my youngest daughter to such danger. My little girl is already two years old. She was vaccinated at the maternity hospital at birth. I didn’t take my child to the clinic for any other vaccinations and I don’t regret it at all,” she said.

In the medical scientific community, similar opinions also exist. Thus, the famous Russian homeopath, author of the book “Ruthless Immunization” Alexander Kotov believes that vaccination undermines the immune system. After vaccinations, a child becomes susceptible to diseases that he, perhaps, would not have contracted without vaccinations. Vaccinations destroy natural immunity, given to a person from nature. In his opinion, the danger of many infections is greatly exaggerated. Therefore, it is better for a child to get chickenpox or measles himself and acquire lifelong immunity to them. The vaccine will not protect against these diseases for life; revaccinations are necessary, each of which is associated with the risk of complications. At breastfeeding The mother's immunity is passed on to the child, so there is no point in rushing to get vaccinated. Up to a year, until the child’s immune system has matured, it is better not to risk his health and avoid meeting with foreign protein. Moreover, each vaccine contains preservative chemicals that are toxic to the body (mercury salts, aluminum hydroxide, formaldehyde), which can adversely affect the central nervous system. nervous system, liver, kidneys. There are no absolutely safe vaccines - any can give severe complications threatening the child with health problems or even death. And the widespread refusal of vaccinations will allow us to raise a generation healthy people, says A. Kotov.

Ignorance or stupidity?

Similar opinion most of The medical community considers it complete absurdity and ignorance. And parents who share this point of view are illiterate people who expose their children to unjustified risk. According to them, vaccination only weakens the child’s immunity for a short time, but overall it becomes stronger. A person does not have natural immunity directed against pathogens severe infections. Vaccinations are the only way to protect yourself from them. And even partial protection is better than none at all. In vaccinated children, even if they get sick, the disease is milder and has fewer complications. So-called childhood infections can also cause serious complications. Especially if they catch up with adults who were not vaccinated against them in a timely manner and who did not have them in childhood: for example, rubella in pregnant women often leads to congenital deformities of the fetus. That small amount of maternal antibodies that is transferred from breast milk, does not protect against airborne infections. And what younger child, the more dangerous the infectious disease is for him. IN modern vaccines concentration toxic substances reduced to a minimum. Antibiotics, which will have to be taken if an unvaccinated child gets sick, can cause children's body not less, but perhaps even more harm. The diseases that vaccines protect against can lead to disability and death, and the risk of such an outcome is hundreds of times higher than in the case of possible post-vaccination complications. Moreover, widespread refusal to vaccinate can lead to epidemics of dangerous diseases.

Therefore, it is imperative to vaccinate your child. But first the child must be prepared for this. After all, one of the reasons for complications that arise after vaccination may be improper preparation to vaccination. If the child is allergic, an appointment is necessary antihistamines: 2 days before vaccination, 2 days after. Before vaccination with the DPT vaccine (against whooping cough, diphtheria, tetanus), you need to do a blood and urine test and consult a neurologist. When preparing for vaccination, you need to purchase children's antipyretics with paracetamol ( better than candles- less adverse reactions). It is better not to use aspirin - complications may arise.

Before vaccination, parents must read the instructions for the vaccine, paying attention to the list of contraindications and the expiration date of the drug. On the day of vaccination, new foods should not be introduced into the diet of the child (and mother, if the child is breastfed). This ban is valid for 3 days (according to some doctors, 7-10 days) after vaccination.

Immediately before vaccination, you should make sure with your doctor that the child does not have a fever. And if this happens, then it is better to refuse it on this day. Parents should not be afraid to refuse vaccination if they have doubts about in good condition child or doubts about the vaccine itself. Moreover, you should definitely find out whether the vaccination office has means to help in case of an allergic reaction.

After vaccination, it is better not to leave the doctor’s office for half an hour or an hour, as immediate allergic reactions to the vaccine may occur. It is better not to bathe your baby on the day of vaccination. And you need to monitor the child’s condition for another 2-3 weeks, especially on days 3, 5 and 10-11 - late allergies may develop during these periods.

Where is the best place to vaccinate?

By the way, in Azerbaijan, many parents who have made their choice in favor of vaccination believe that European vaccines are better than Indian ones, which are given out in clinics - they have less side effects. It is advised to be especially careful when choosing the DTP vaccine. In the Indian version, it usually contains the so-called whole-cell pertussis component, which, according to many doctors, causes most reactions, such as swelling at the injection site, fever, and convulsions. In most vaccines foreign countries they are called acellular or acellular - the pertussis component is purified and causes fewer reactions. Some people believe that it is better to do vaccinations against different diseases separately - this way the load on the body will be less. Others argue that combination vaccines are better and that one "common" shot is preferable to two separate ones - half the time total dose toxic preservative. In any case, you should consult your pediatrician on these issues so that he can determine which option is right for your child.

And we will say the following to opponents of Indian vaccines. Many private clinics will assure you that they will vaccinate your child with a Belgian-made vaccine, but this procedure will be much more expensive. However, a local doctor at one of the local clinics believes that private clinics cannot have vaccines from other manufacturers, since they are ordered and purchased at the state level. If a decision is made at the level of the Ministry of Health to order Indian-made vaccines, then in all medical institutions of Azerbaijan they will be Indian. “If they tell you otherwise, then you are simply being deceived,” says this doctor.

A representative of a private clinic does not agree with this opinion, pointing out that “every private clinic has a license to purchase medicines, vaccines and medical equipment from the country in which it considers it necessary, hence the difference in prices for treatment in private medical institutions. And if you want to vaccinate your child with a safe vaccine, then it is better to do it in a clinic that gives preference to European-made medicines."

You need to get vaccinated!

What to do, who to believe?! Regardless of which clinic you choose, private or public, most doctors are supporters mandatory vaccinations children. According to the country's chief pediatrician, Professor Nasib Guliyev, there is no alternative to vaccination in the world. As for the quality of vaccinations, they are produced using high technology, and all countries of the world have joined in immunization: “By refusing vaccinations, parents expose their children to great risk. An unvaccinated child can become infected with dangerous diseases at any time.” infectious diseases". N. Guliyev noted: “According to the results of research by the US Organization for Disease Control, the lives of 3 million children are saved annually through vaccinations in the world.”

According to the deputy chief physician of the Main Baku City Health Department Rauf Nagiyeva, Each drug entering Azerbaijan is introduced after testing at the Center for Analytical Expertise of Drugs. R. Nagiyev noted that minor reactions in children after vaccination are natural: “This is a response of the body. After vaccination, a child may experience slight increase fever, slight discomfort, this is normal. After vaccination, the child seems to suffer from this disease in a mild form.”

The Ministry of Health also provides on-line information to citizens about vaccinations and provides an electronic vaccination calendar. This fully automated electronic service is presented at the Internet address http://sehiyye.gov.az/immunoprofilaktika_uzre_veb_resurs.html.

Many modern parents ask questions:

What are the complications after vaccinations?

Why do they arise?

And, most importantly, is it possible to avoid these complications?

Regarding complications after vaccinations, information is often transmitted by word of mouth, from one parent to another.

From local pediatricians - doctors with whom parents most often come into contact, you can usually hear: “this vaccine is well tolerated,” “complications are extremely rare, one in a million,” and so on, in this spirit. When doctors say things like this, they are relying on own experience. You can work for 3-5 years at a site and not see a single case of complications caused by vaccination.

At the same time, scientists and immunologists give more specific answers to the questions posed. The information that will be given in this article is taken from methodological recommendations on vaccination for doctors (1). Its authors are specialists in immunology, autoimmune, allergic diseases, vaccinology and infectious diseases.

Complications after vaccination

All pathological conditions, which develop in the post-vaccination period, can be divided into 4 groups:

1.Technical errors by medical staff during vaccinations(violation of sterility, errors in the process of preparing vaccines, incorrect choice of method and place of administration of the drug, violation of the rules for transportation and storage of vaccines, contraindications to vaccination are not taken into account).
According to WHO, among total number 90% of reported complications are caused by technical errors.

vaccination errors and their consequences

Please note that 90% of complications are caused by technical errors of medical staff, including vaccinations for children for whom vaccination is contraindicated. Logically, to avoid such complications, it is necessary to examine the child before vaccination.

2. The addition of another (intercurrent) infection in the post-vaccination period and the development of complications of this infection, which coincide in time with the vaccination process.

Children who developed intercurrent (other) diseases were more likely to have been vaccinated during illness or to have had contact with sick people.

In the development of pathology in the post-vaccination period, the role of intrauterine infection, which must be diagnosed before vaccination, is not taken into account.

The statement that “a runny nose is not a hindrance to vaccination” is not true. The child must be healthy at the time of vaccination. It is very important that in the next few weeks after vaccination he does not come into contact with sick people.

In the first days of a child’s life in the maternity hospital, two vaccinations must be given, according to the preventive vaccination calendar. This is vaccination against hepatitis B and tuberculosis. It is important to consider how pregnancy and childbirth proceeded, and whether the mother was sick during pregnancy. If you suspect an intrauterine infection, you should temporarily refuse vaccination.

3. Exacerbation chronic infection, against the background of which vaccination becomes a “trigger factor” causing an exacerbation.

4. Post-vaccination reactions and complications caused directly by the vaccine

complications associated with vaccines and when they occur

And also about how to minimize the risk of complications caused by vaccinations.

I have questions for parents who vaccinated their children:

  1. How did your child cope with vaccinations?
  2. How carefully did your child's doctor examine you before sending him for vaccinations? Were any tests ordered before this?
